AMERICAN PARTNERSHIP FOR PETS (APP)

The American Partnership for Pets (APP) has successfully brought together nationally a broad range of animal organizations, along with the American Veterinary Medical Association, to promote the United States Postal Service Spay/Neuter Stamp issued in Fall 2002. The stamp sends a united call to action: "Too many animals — Too few homes. Save lives — Neuter or Spay."

APP and its partners are encouraging all Americans to have their pets spayed or neutered. Partnering organizations are helping to raise awareness of pet overpopulation by educating communities about the societal benefits of pet sterilization and, in many cases, offering low-cost spay/neuter services.

The Snyder Foundation has a particular interest in education initiatives designed to promote the stamp and its message. We have launched our "Spay/Neuter Patch Packet Program" together with the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland.

In addition, we are using the stamps as an integral part of our Pen Pal Correspondence Program.
