A Home for Nathan is a colorfully illustrated
book that traces the true story of a young unwanted cats journey
as hes cared for at an animal shelter and finally adopted
into the loving home every cat deserves. The book provides children
with a positive introduction to animal shelters and emphasizes humane
concepts such as compassion and responsible pet care.
Nathan
was adopted from The Humane Society of Baltimore County in the Fall
of 1994 by the book's author, Claudia Roll. Before departing
for New Mexico in the Spring of 2003, Nathan and Claudia visited
Baltimore-area schools on behalf of The Snyder Foundation. Students
learned about the needs of companion animals and experienced the
joy of a loving human-animal bond.
