philanthropic support. Founded in 1898 and reorganized in 1992,
the Snyder Foundation operates two major programs: Grants and

- Established the “SCAAT!” fund, “Stop Cruelty
Against Animals, Too!,” a program like Crime Solvers
- Developed a pilot education program for juvenile offenders in
cooperation with the Department of Juvenile Justice
- Developed the pilot “Spay/Neuter Patch Program”
for the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland
- Provided training on the correlation between human violence
and animal cruelty for law enforcement, criminal justice,
education, family services, and domestic violence prevention professionals
- Offered training in Project Wild, Project Wet, and Project
Learning Tree
- Listed in its Program Guide more than 40 different education
programs, including programs on bite prevention and safety,
bats, sharks, reptiles, wolves, and the Chesapeake Bay Watershed
